TI CONSTRUCTION TRAINING PROGRAM
We partner with the Laborer’s Union, Local #67 and #261, Asian Neighborhood Design, Pacific Leadership Institute. , and Aspire to provide three cycles of 7 weeks of construction training to become a Lead and Asbestos Abatement Laborer Apprentice.
If selected, and upon successful completion of the training, and passing of a drug test, successful candidates may be offered immediate employment.
Classes are held Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.,
Interested candidates will have to attend One Treasure Island’s Mandatory Orientation,
Orientation is held every Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, and undergo a screening and selection process.
FREE CERTIFICATED 10 HOURS OSHA TRAINING
OSHA 10 safety training is an industry standard training recognized by employers nationally, thus successful OSHA 10 graduates will increase their employment opportunities with appropriate credentials to enter and work in commercial, residential, and industrial construction sites.
The OSHA 10 training places heavy emphasis on hazardous identification, avoidance, control and prevention. It covers safety awareness, and recognizing and reducing the risks of job site hazards.
CONSTRUCTION APPRENTICESHIP RESEARCH WORKSHOP
Apprenticeship research workshop allows the participants to have a clear understanding of all the trades available and pre-requisites.
Prior to entering apprenticeship Training, these workshops will help prepare participants to research and select 3-5 trades.
CONSTRUCTION EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Working with San Francisco CityBuild, One Treasure Island will assist with recruiting, screening, and referring job seekers who are interested in being sponsored as an apprentice, or have prior construction work experiences, for island and off-island construction employment opportunities.
We will work with interested candidates to ensure they are registered with the appropriate union, and is job ready for employment.
This is a tremendous opportunity for people with barriers to employment obtain careers that pay living wages.
