Job Description

One Treasure Island’s (One TI) mission is to create an equitable, inclusive, and thriving community for all Treasure Island residents, employees, businesses, and visitors. Lower-income households and those who have experienced homelessness are at the center of our mission. Together, as the Island develops, we will foster a diverse and inclusive mixed-income neighborhood through affordable housing, jobs, community building, and advocacy

We have identified the need for an experienced community developer who will be responsible for leading some of One TI’s significant community development opportunities and objectives. This is a newly created role and is an executive position that requires a thought leader who will partner with the Co-Executive Directors to build strong relationships with community, governmental and private entities. It is a highly visible role and requires someone with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities for this role:

Community Development & Services Planning

Lead the following projects on behalf of One TI:

  • Coordination on New Supplemental Transportation Efforts

  • Develop program design, work plan and manage eventual staff that oversee the New Ambassador Program (when established)

  • Coordinate Space Activation (retail, parks, community facilities) for Efforts with TI Development Authority (TIDA) and TI Development Group (TIDG)

  • Assess One TI Economic Development Opportunities & help develop plan to implement

  • Staff the One TI, TICD and TIDA bi monthly Community Development Meeting

  • Work with TIDA Planners on Equity Project(s)

  • Participate in transportation planning efforts for the island & coordinate with One TI members when needed

Community Engagement

  • Begin work as Team member on various aspects of community engagement

  • Lead Creation & implementation of a Community Advisory Committee of the One TI Board

  • Help create potential on island Resident and Business Council

Government Funding

  • Assist Co-EDs in identifying and obtaining new sources of government funding through RFP responses and potential proposals as it relates to new programming opportunities.

In Order to Be Successful, You’ll Have:

  • Demonstrated experience working with public, private and community partnerships. Preferably in mixed income communities. 8+ years in community planning & design

  • 8+ years in developing & implementing community engagement processes with lower income communities

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including making community and other public presentations.

  • Outstanding leadership skills: strategic thinking, proactive problem solving, excellent negotiation skills, a champion of change as a result of your collaborative influencing style.

  • Staff Supervision Experience


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)

  • Master’s degree in urban design, planning, administration, social work, public policy, or a related field (preferred)

This position is located on Treasure Island, San Francisco. A hybrid work schedule may be negotiated. Treasure Island can be reached by car but also by the 25 MUNI Bus from the TransBay Terminal and the Treasure Island Ferry.

Salary Range:

The salary range is $90,000 - $115,000/yr. depending on experience. This position includes medical/dental after a 90-day assessment phase
