Construction Training Program and
Job Placement Services

The Construction Training Program (CTP) is a comprehensive 8-week, 40-hour per week pre-apprenticeship training program designed to prepare participants of any skill level for union employment in the construction industry.

CTP 18: May 6, 2024 - June 28, 2024

CTP 19: September 9, 2024 - November 1, 2024

CTP Program Eligibility Requirements

San Francisco residents who meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply. Participants must be available to attend all scheduled classes from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the 8-week program.

18 Years or Older

Fully Vaccinated for COVID

DD-214 (if a veteran)

Preferred (not required):

GED / High School Diploma

Valid Photo ID or Driver’s License

Clean Driving Record

CTP Training Program Certifications

  • HAZCOM

  • Traffic and Flagging Control

  • Heat Illness

  • 8 Hr. Rigging and Signaling

  • Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

  • 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)

Program graduates will receive the following certifications:

  • OSHA 10

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Fall Protection

  • Trenching and Excavation

  • Confined Space

  • Hearing Conservation

  • Silica Awareness

  • Lockout Tagout

CTP Job Placement Services

CTP staff work with program graduates to ensure they are placed in suitable employment after graduation. The CTP program also pays for union indentureship fees, boots, tools, and other necessities for beginning work as quickly and successfully as possible. 85% of program graduates are placed within the first 2 weeks of graduation.
